Roswell officially marked a major milestone in public safety on June 24 with the opening of the City’s new Public Safety Headquarters at 1080 Holcomb Bridge Road.
The new facility brings the Roswell Police Department and Roswell Fire Department together under one roof for the first time, creating a centralized hub designed to support faster coordination, improved efficiency and enhanced emergency response throughout the City.
Made possible through the voter-approved 2022 Public Safety Bond Program, the project represents a generational investment in Roswell’s public safety infrastructure and the long-term needs of the community.
Designed to Support a Growing Community
Located on an 8.7-acre campus, the renovated facility—formerly known as The Summit office buildings—includes approximately 127,000 square feet across two buildings. The new headquarters addresses long-standing space limitations experienced at the Police Department’s previous location on Hill Street and the Fire Department’s administrative offices on Hembree Road.
Its central location provides efficient coverage across Roswell’s 20 square miles while improving collaboration between Police and Fire personnel.ized the importance of the upgraded technology and connectivity between emergency systems.
Modern Facilities for Modern Public Safety
In addition to updated administrative offices and modernized technology infrastructure, the campus includes several specialized facilities designed to support daily operations.
Among the improvements are:
- A new three-bay secure sally port garage, including a dedicated bay for the Criminal Investigations Division (CID)
- A new evidence and support building with secure, climate-controlled evidence storage
- A motor barn for police fleet vehicles and equipment
- Dedicated fitness and training space for personnel
These enhancements provide the resources necessary for first responders to continue delivering high-quality service to residents.
Part of a Larger Public Safety Investment
The Public Safety Headquarters is one of several major projects funded through the 2022 Public Safety Bond Program. Other investments include:
- The new E-911 Emergency Communications Center
- Improvements to Roswell fire stations
- A citywide traffic signal preemption system to help emergency vehicles move more safely and efficiently through intersections
Together, these projects are modernizing Roswell’s public safety network while ensuring the City remains prepared to serve a growing community.
By investing in facilities, technology and emergency response capabilities today, Roswell is strengthening the foundation that helps keep residents, businesses and visitors safe for years to come.
