The City of Roswell, in partnership with DSM Real Estate Partners, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of The Chambray, a new 125-room boutique hotel that will be located adjacent to Southern Post in Roswell’s Historic District.

City leaders, development partners, and community stakeholders gathered on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to mark the official start of construction on the highly anticipated project — one that represents both thoughtful growth and continued investment in Roswell’s vibrant downtown.

“The Chambray is an important addition to Roswell’s downtown district and a meaningful investment in our tourism and business community,” said Mayor Mary Robichaux. “This project reflects strong collaboration and a shared commitment to thoughtful growth that supports local businesses, attracts visitors, and enhances the vitality of our City.”

Developed by DSM Real Estate Partners and Stafford Development Company, the property will be operated by The Indigo Road Hospitality Group and will be part of Hyatt’s neighborhood-centric JdV Collection — a portfolio of independent hotels rooted in local culture and character.

    The Chambray will feature:

    • 125 thoughtfully designed guest rooms
    • A coffee and patisserie bar
    • A Mediterranean-inspired ground-floor restaurant
    • A rooftop sushi restaurant with sweeping views
    • Private dining and event spaces
    • A fully equipped fitness center

Anticipated to open in summer 2027, the project is expected to generate approximately 350 construction jobs and 30 permanent hospitality positions, further supporting Roswell’s growing tourism economy and surrounding businesses.

Named for a fabric that is timeless, textured, and versatile, The Chambray reflects Roswell’s character as a place that feels familiar yet full of discovery. Design inspiration is drawn from the surrounding neighborhood and the community’s appreciation for gathering, dining, and celebration.

The project is the first development supported through the City’s Roswell Development Finance Program (RDFP), an economic development initiative established in partnership with the Roswell Development Authority to advance high-quality commercial projects. Through the program, $14.76 million in financing was secured for The Chambray, with capital provided by Nuveen Green Capital. The financing structure ensures there is no financial liability to the City or taxpayers.

    What This Means for Roswell

More Energy in the Historic District
The Chambray will bring new visitors into the heart of downtown Roswell — increasing foot traffic for local boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and small businesses that make our Historic District special.

    A Boost to Local Jobs
The project is expected to generate approximately 350 construction jobs and 30 permanent hospitality positions, creating new opportunities both during construction and long after the doors open.

    A New Gathering Place
From rooftop dining with scenic views to intimate event spaces, The Chambray will offer new places to celebrate, connect, and host events right here in Roswell.

    Smart, Responsible Investment
Financing for the project was secured through the City’s Roswell Development Finance Program (RDFP) using third-party funding — ensuring there is no financial liability to the City or taxpayers.

    Thoughtful Growth, True to Roswell
As the first project supported through the RDFP model, The Chambray reflects Roswell’s commitment to strategic growth that enhances community character, supports sustainability, and strengthens the local economy.

As construction moves forward, The Chambray is poised to become more than a hotel — it will be a new front porch for visitors discovering Roswell for the first time and a new backdrop for residents celebrating life’s moments close to home. With its design rooted in local character and its purpose tied to long-term community benefit, this project represents another chapter in the continued evolution of Roswell’s Historic District.
