The City of Roswell is proud to join communities across the nation in commemorating this historic milestone through America250 in Roswell, Georgia: Tapestry of Generations, a year-long celebration honoring Roswell’s place in the American story.
Running from January through December 2026, America250 in Roswell weaves together programs, performances, exhibits, and public events that reflect our shared history, celebrate the people and traditions that shape our community, and inspire future generations.
A Tapestry of Generations
The theme, Tapestry of Generations, reflects how Roswell’s story has been shaped by those who came before us and continues to evolve through the contributions of today’s residents. Throughout the year, events and initiatives are organized around three guiding pillars:
Life – Appreciating the Stories That Shape Us
Educational programs, storytelling events, and cultural experiences will explore the individuals, ideas, and traditions that connect generations and define Roswell’s identity.
Liberty – Honoring Sacrifice, Service, and the Ongoing Pursuit of Freedom
Civic ceremonies and reflection events will recognize those who have served and continue to shape our democracy and community.
Happiness – Connecting Through Joy and Celebration
Festivals, concerts, performances, and gatherings will foster unity, pride, and shared experiences throughout the year.

Signature Events and Community Highlights
America250 in Roswell is designed to align with both new initiatives and longstanding City traditions.
Community Quilt Project – March 21 (National Quilt Day)
One of the year’s signature initiatives, the Community Quilt Project invites residents to participate in the creation of a collaborative public art piece symbolizing Roswell’s shared story. The completed quilt will be unveiled on National Quilt Day, serving as a lasting representation of connection across generations.
Quilters, A Musical – August 14–23
Continuing the quilting theme, Quilters, A Musical will take the stage at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center in August. The production reflects stories of perseverance, family, and heritage — reinforcing the spirit of Tapestry of Generations.
Annual Celebrations with America250 Spotlights
Several of Roswell’s established events will incorporate America250 programming throughout the year, including:
